Two Young Girls Injured in Santa Rosa Pedestrian Accident at Santa Rosa Marketplace; 3 Arrested

Santa Rosa, California (September 27, 2020) – Two girls were injured after being struck by a hit-and-run driver during a sideshow in a local supermarket parking lot in Santa Rosa late Friday night, police said.
The accident happened at about 11:15 p.m. Friday, September 25, in the Santa Rosa Marketplace parking lot.
According to the police, two girls under the age of 18 were hit by a white Ford Mustang spinning “doughnuts” at the sideshow.
2 Injured in Santa Rosa Hit-and-Run Crash at Sideshow
One of the girls sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The second girl suffered minor injuries.
The Mustang’s driver, Sergio Eduardo Vargas, 21, of Santa Rosa, attempted to flee the lot but was arrested by the authorities. He was eventually booked into jail for felony hit and run, felony reckless driving, misdemeanor reckless driving in an off-street parking facility and an outstanding warrant.
Two other drivers, Seth Ostram, 40, and a 21-year-old Santa Rosa man, were also arrested as a result of the accident. Ostram was booked into custody on suspicion of reckless driving, child endangerment, and violation of probation while the 21-year-old Santa Rosa man was cited for alleged reckless driving and was released.
Another person, Jose Roberto Alejo, 26, of Vallejo, was arrested and booked into jail on suspicion of carrying a concealed firearm, carrying a loaded firearm in public, being armed while in possession of a controlled substance, possession of a high capacity magazine, and possession of a controlled substance.
The accident remains under investigation.
