Fresno, California (September 23, 2020) – A motorcyclist died following a traffic accident Tuesday evening in Fresno, the California Highway Patrol reported.

The deadly motorcycle crash was reported to the CHP officials at about 5:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 22 on the westbound Highway 168 exit at McKinley Avenue.

According to the CHP, a 27-year-old Fresno man was riding his 2007 Suzuki motorcycle and was exiting the freeway when he lost control of the bike due to excessive speed.

The Suzuki then crashed into the metal guardrail.  Following the impact, the rider, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected onto a dirt culvert.

The motorcycle rider died at the scene. His name has not been disclosed pending notification of next of kin.

According to the CHP, the rider had a valid motorcycle license. It is still unclear if intoxication played a role in the crash.

An investigation into the accident is underway.
