Eureka, California (September 18, 2020) – Authorities have identified the woman who died in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and an SUV Friday afternoon in Eureka as Trista Poletski, 29, of Eureka.

The deadly motorcycle crash took place shortly before 12:30 p.m. Friday, September 18, in the 5300 block of Walnut Drive, just south of Greenbriar Lane.

According to the California Highway Patrol, Trista Poletski, 29, of Eureka, was riding his motorcycle northbound on Walnut Drive at approximately 40 to 45 mph when, for undetermined reasons, she drifted into the southbound lane and collided head-on with an oncoming Dodge Nitro.

Paramedics responded to the scene and performed CPR on Poletski. Despite life-saving measures, Poletski did not survive her injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The SUV driver sustained minor injuries.

No additional information about the accident was provided.
