45-Year-Old Woman Killed in Sunnyvale Car Accident on Highway 85 near Interstate 280

Sunnyvale, California (September 18, 2020) – A 45-year-old woman was killed Wednesday morning following a traffic accident in Sunnyvale, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The deadly crash happened at about 8:50 a.m. Wednesday, September 16, on the ramp from northbound Highway 85 to southbound Interstate 280.
According to the CHP, the woman was driving on the ramp from northbound Highway 85 to southbound Interstate 280 when she lost control of her 2003 Lexus.
The Lexus then drifted off the roadway into a dirt gore point and collided with a 2015 Lexus on the connector from southbound Highway 85 to southbound Interstate 280.
After the impact, both vehicles crashed into a guardrail.

The driver of the 2003 Lexus died at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The other driver, a 37-year-old East Palo Alto man, sustained minor injuries.
No further details about the crash were given.
An investigation into the accident is underway.
