The accident happened at about 1:40 p.m. on Highway 99 near Floral Avenue, the authorities reported.
A vehicle was traveling on the roadway when it was rear-ended by a second vehicle in unclear circumstances.
A man believed to have hit his head on the windshield during the collision. The authorities who responded to the collision found the man down on the roadway.
