Adelmira Sanchez Among 2 Injured in Earlimart Truck Crash on Avenue 48 at Road 160

Earlimart, California (September 15, 2020) – Authorities have identified Adelmira Sanchez, 35, of Delano, as one of the two persons who were injured in a two-vehicle accident that killed three people, including two children, on Monday night in Earlimart.
The deadly accident transpired at about 3:20 p.m., on September 14, in the area of Avenue 48 at Road 160.
According to the CHP, a 2014 Nissan Sentra, driven by a 26-year-old woman, was traveling northbound on Road 160, approaching Avenue 48 when it collided with a 2003 Toyota Tacoma, driven by Roberto Barron Vejar, 48, of Delano, that was driving westbound on Avenue 48.
The Nissan reportedly failed to stop for the posted stop sign and directly entered the intersection in front of the Toyota.
Following the collision, the Nissan spun out of control onto the northwest corner of the intersection. At the same time, Vejar’s Toyota came to rest on the north shoulder of Avenue 48, just west of Road 160, the officials said.

The 26-year-old woman and her two passengers, a 4-year-old boy and a 4-month-old boy, all from McFarland, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Both Vejar and Sanchez sustained minor injuries in the accident. Sanchez was a passenger in the Toyota.
Drugs or alcohol were not suspected of having played a role in the accident.
The crash remains under investigation.
