San Jose, California (September 7, 2020) –  Authorities have identified the man who was struck and killed by an ambulance Saturday morning in East San Jose as Donald Fisher, 56, of San Jose.

The fatal pedestrian accident happened just before 5:00 a.m.Saturday, September 5 at McKee Road and El Rancho Verde Drive.

Police said the ambulance was heading eastbound on McKee Road toward Regional Medical Center when it hit Fisher, who was outside a marked crosswalk.

The ambulance did not have its lights or siren activated at the time of the accident.

Deadly Pedestrian Crash at McKee Road and El Rancho Verde Drive in San Jose

The ambulance crew stopped and performed CPR on Fisher until another ambulance transported him to a hospital, where he later died from his injuries. 

Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
