San Clemente, California (August 28, 2020) – Tyler Michael Shelton has been identified as one of the two soldiers who were killed in a military helicopter crash that left three other soldiers injured late Thursday night in San Clemente. 

According to the Army’s Special Operation’s Command, a Blackhawk helicopter crashed on San Clemente Island, about 70 miles west of San Diego, on August 27

The factors that contributed to the accident are yet to be established.

Shelton and one other soldier were killed in the crash, according to the Defense Department. Three others were injured in the accident.

More details about the accident were not immediately available.

The crash remains under investigation.
