Rider Injured in Scotts Valley Motorcycle Crash on Highway 17 near Sugarloaf Road

Scotts Valley, California (August 28, 2020) – A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries after colliding with a semi-truck Friday afternoon on Highway 17 in Scotts Valley, the California Highway Patrol reported.
Authorities said at around 3:16 p.m., a motorcyclist was allegedly weaving in and out of lanes when it collided with a semi-truck and went under it.
The crash happened in the southbound lanes just north of Sugarloaf Road.
Firefighters and paramedics responded to the crash scene.
The rider sustained serious injuries and was hospitalized in unknown condition.
Authorities are investigating the accident.
