47-Year-Old Weed Man Killed, Woman Injured in Siskiyou County Car Accident on Interstate 5 near Louie Road

Siskiyou County, California (August 26, 2020) – A man was killed and a woman was injured Tuesday morning in a traffic accident on Interstate 5 in Siskiyou County, according to a press release from the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal crash occurred shortly before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, on Interstate 5, just south of Louie Road.
As per the CHP release, a 46-year-old Weed woman was driving a silver Toyota 4-Runner southbound on Interstate 5 at 75 to 78 mph when, for unknown reasons, she allowed the vehicle to travel onto the right gravel shoulder.
The 4-Runner then continued out of control and went across the southbound lanes before it rolled over multiple times in the dirt center median.
Fatal Single-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 5 in Siskiyou County
A passenger in the 4-Runner, a 47-year-old Weed man, was ejected from the vehicle during the collision. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
The woman suffered minor injuries and was transported to Mercy Medical Center Mt. Shasta. Their names have not been diclosed.
Intoxication was believed to have been a factor in the accident.
