70-Year-Old Man Seriously Injured in Midtown Bicycle Accident at West Washington and India Streets
Midtown, California (August 21, 2020) – An elderly bicyclist was struck and seriously injured by a vehicle Friday afternoon at an intersection in the Midtown area of San Diego, according to authorities.
The bicycle accident happened at around 1:30 p.m. at the intersection of West Washington and India streets.
Police said a 70-year-old man was riding his bicycle near West Washington and India streets when he was hit by a Dodge minivan.

The bicyclist sustained major injuries and was transported to a hospital for treatment. His name and current condition were not immediately diclosed.
The driver involved did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and fled the scene. The suspect’s vehicle was described as a blue or gray Dodge Caravan with heavy front-end damage.
The minivan was last seen getting along northbound Interstate 5 at Washington. Police are still searching for the hit-and-run motorist.
The accident remains under investigation.
