1 Killed in Fresno Big Rig Accident on Highway 180 and Chateau Fresno
Fresno, California (August 19, 2020) – One person was killed and another seriously injured in a big rig accident on Wednesday afternoon in Fresno, authorities said.
The fatal crash transpired at about 1:40 p.m. on Highway 180 and Chateau Fresno.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was driving westbound on Highway 180 and slowing down to turn south on Chateau Fresno. A big rig was also headed westbound and did not see the slowing car.
The driver of the big rig then veered to the left at the last minute and, unfortunately, it collided with a car that was traveling eastbound, the officials’ said.

A passenger in the eastbound car was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver sustained major injuries and was transported to Community Regional Medical Center for treatment.
Further details regarding the accident were not immediately available.
The crash remains under investigation.
