Petaluma, CA: 1 Killed after Gas Tanker Truck Collides with SUV Tuesday Morning
Fiery Petaluma Truck Accident at Pepper Road and Bodega Avenue Leaves 1 Dead
Petaluma, California (August 18, 2020) – One person was killed when a gas tanker truck collided with a blue SUV Tuesday morning at an intersection in Petaluma, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at about 6:20 a.m. at the intersection of Pepper Road and Bodega Avenue.
As per the CHP release, the SUV caught fire after colliding with the truck for unknown reasons. The driver of the SUV was trapped inside the burning vehicle. The driver of the truck attempted to put the fire out before emergency crews arrived.

CHP said one person was killed in the accident but did not give more details.
The truck had 3,500 gallons of gas at the time of the accident. The vehicle was towed away with major front-end damage.
Officers are investigating the cause of the collision.
