Baker, California (August 8, 2020) – At least three people were killed and three others were injured after an SUV crashed into the back of a semi-truck Saturday evening on 15 Freeway near Baker, according to a local news source.

The deadly collision occurred shortly after 7:00 p.m. in the northbound lane of 15 Freeway.

As per the report, a sport utility vehicle was traveling in the northbound lane of the freeway when, for unknown reasons, it rear-ended a semi-truck. The SUV caught fire after the impact.

Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and rendered aid to the parties involved.

At least three people died at the scene. Their names have not been diclosed pending notification of next of kin for each involved parties.

Three other people, a 15-year-old, a child, and the child’s mother, were airlifted to Las Vegas University Medical Center, one with critical injuries and two with moderate injuries.

No further details about the accident were immediately provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
