Bronson White Critically Injured in Fatal 2-Car Crash on Highway 62 in Joshua Tree
Bronson White Identified as Person Hospitalized after Fatal Joshua Tree Car Accident on Highway 62
Joshua Tree, California (July 30, 2020) – Bronson White, 62, of Twentynine Palms, has been identified as the person who was critically injured in a two-car crash that killed one person on Wednesday morning in Joshua Tree, according to police.
At about 10:43 a.m., on July 29, the California Highway Patrol responded to the deadly traffic collision on Highway 62.
The CHP said a 2003 Ford Thunderbird, driven by White, was traveling westbound on Highway 62 when, for unknown reasons, it lost control and drifted onto the northbound shoulder of the highway.
White turned the vehicle to the left, causing it to spin across all the lanes before hitting the left front of a Toyota pickup truck, driven by Richard Lorge, 77, of Twentynine Palms, the officials said.
The two vehicles reportedly came to a rest in the number 2 lane and southbound shoulder of the highway, the authorities said.
Lorge was trapped in the wreckage and was extricated by the first responders who arrived at the scene.
Bronson White Hospitalized After Fatal Traffic Collision on Highway 62 in Joshua Tree
Lorge sustained major injuries in the crash and was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center and then flown to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, where he was pronounced dead.
White suffered critical injuries and was also taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment.
Both drivers were wearing a seatbelt at the time of the mishap.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
