At Least 1 Killed in Oakland Motorcycle Accident on Highway 24 near Caldecott Lane

Oakland, California (July 30, 2020) – The California Highway Patrol is investigating a deadly motorcycle accident that happened Wednesday night on eastbound Highway 24 in Oakland.
CHP said a motorcycle collided with a black Honda sedan at about 11:18 p.m. just west of Caldecott Lane.
Reportedly, the sedan was being driven by an off-duty Oakland Police Department officer at the time of the wreck.
Oakland police officers responded to the scene.
CHP said at least one person was killed in the accident. There were no details given about the victim.
The sedan acquired major front-end damage and was towed away from the scene.
All eastbound lanes of the highway were blocked following the accident. Traffic was diverted off at Broadway.
The cause of the collision is under investigation.
