Major Injuries Suffered in San Diego Multi-Car Accident on 5 Freeway near Garnet Avenue
San Diego, California (July 25, 2020) – Six vehicles collided Friday afternoon on 5 Freeway in San Diego, resulting in major injuries, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The pileup occurred at about 3:05 p.m. in the southbound lanes of the freeway just north of Garnet Avenue.
The crash, whose cause was not mentioned in the report, left the Nos. 4 and 5 lanes closed.

Responding paramedics helped an unknown number of victims who sustained major injuries in the accident.
All lanes were reopened at 4:24 p.m.
CHP is collecting more information to establish the cause of the accident.
