Michael Hunley ID’d as Bicyclist Killed in Bakersfield Crash on Chester Avenue

Bakersfield, California (July 23, 2020) – The bicyclist who died after being hit by a vehicle Sunday night in Bakersfield has been identified as Michael Andre Hunley, 40, of Bakersfield.
According to police, the fatal bicycle collision occurred at about 9:30 p.m. Sunday, July 19, in the 1200 block of Chester Avenue.
Authorities said Hunley was riding his bicycle on Chester Avenue when, for unknown reasons, he was struck by a vehicle.

Hunley was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver involved did not stop to render aid to the bicyclist and fled the scene. Police said the hit-and-run motorist was last seen traveling southbound on Chester Avenue.
The suspect’s vehicle was described as an older model sedan with major front-end damage.
