Calaveras County, California (July 20, 2020) – Minor injuries were reported after a helicopter contracted with PG&E crashed in Calaveras County on Monday morning.

The accident happened at about 10 a.m. in an area off Highway 12, between San Andreas and Valley Springs

The helicopter with three people on board is reported to have lost power and crashed near a ranch property and started a small fire. Officers from the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office and crews with the fire department responded to the crash.

Helicopter Crashes in Calaveras County

PG&E said a pilot and the two electric troublemen managed to exit the plane before it caught fire. They sustained minor injuries in the crash and were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

The FTSB and FAA are investigating the cause of the crash.
