Mark Moore Killed in Bicycle Accident at Hesperian Boulevard and Drew Street, Ric Acosta Arrested

San Leandro, California (July 9, 2020) – A man who died two days after being struck by a vehicle as he rode his bicycle in San Leandro has been identified.
The bicycle accident happened at about 7:40 p.m. on June 28, in the area of Hesperian Boulevard and Drew Street.
The California Highway Patrol said 52-year-old Mark Moore, a resident of San Lorenzo, had been riding a bicycle in the area when he was hit by a car.
Moore was transported to an area hospital where he died two days later.
Ric Acosta Arrested after Fatal Hit-and-Run Bicycle Accident in San Leandro
The motorist, who has since been identified as 38-year-old Ric Acosta of San Leandro, fled the scene after the accident. He was arrested on July 2, and was charged with first-degree murder and felony hit-and-run.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
