Riverside Man Killed in Tuesday Morning Crash at Barton Street and Krameria Avenue Identified
Riverside, California (July 8, 2020) – Russell Santos, 56, was killed in a car accident that happened Tuesday morning at an intersection in Riverside, according to the Riverside County Sheriff-Coroner.
The Riverside man died in a two-car accident that happened at about 11:30 a.m. at Barton Street and Krameria Avenue, south of the Orangecrest neighborhood of Riverside.
First responders found Santos pinned beneath his vehicle and pronounced him dead at the scene.
According to Riverside Police Department, Santos collided with a 2000 Toyota Tundra driven by another 20-year-old Riverside resident.
Riverside Man Killed in Tuesday Morning 2-Car Crash
Police said Santos was southbound on Barton in a Ford bus when the 20-year-old driver, who was north on Barton, attempted to turn left onto Krameria.
The Tundra ended up in front of the Ford and the two vehicles collided.
Santos vehicle flipped onto its side and trapped him underneath.
The driver of the Tundra was hospitalized with moderate injuries.
Neither driver was believed to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
RPD is investigating the collision.
