Driver Killed in McFarland Car Accident on Highway 43 near Sherwood Avenue
McFarland, California (June 26, 2020) – A driver was killed early Friday morning in a traffic accident near McFarland in Kern County, according to a local news source.
The fatal crash happened a little after 3:30 a.m. on Highway 43 near Sherwood Avenue, the California Highway Patrol reported.
According to the CHP, a BMW was heading westbound on Sherwood Avenue. At the same time, a Dodge Ram pickup was traveling northbound on Highway 43.
The driver of the BMW failed to yield the right-of-way to the Dodge pickup and collided with the vehicle.
It remains unclear whether the BMW driver allegedly ran a red light at the intersection before entering.

The driver of the BMW was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the victim was withheld pending notification of family.
The CHP said the operator of the Dodge pickup was not injured in the accident.
No further details about the crash were immediately disclosed.
