Vallejo, CA: 1 Seriously Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 37
One Airlifted after Vallejo 6-Car Accident on Highway 37 near Skaggs Island Road
Vallejo, California (June 17, 2020) – One person sustained serious injuries following a traffic accident that occurred Monday afternoon in Vallejo, according to a local news source.
According to the California Highway Patrol, the multi-vehicle crash took place a little before 3:00 p.m. June 15 on Highway 37, just east of Skaggs Island Road.
Six vehicles collided for unknown reasons in the eastbound lanes of Highway 37. As a result of the collision, one of the vehicles overturned into a canal and landed on its roof.
Major Injury Traffic Collision on Highway 37 in Vallejo
Firefighters along with the paramedics responded to the scene and extricated one party who was pinned inside one of the vehicles. The patient was then airlifted to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek with major injuries.
Authorities said the other parties involved in the crash sustained minor injuries. The names of the victim and their current condition were not immediately disclosed.
Highway 37 was closed in both directions as crews worked to clear the scene.
The accident remains under investigation.
