Woman Hurt in Ventura County Car Accident at La Luna Avenue and El Roblar Drive, Nathan Whitteker Arrested
Ojai, California (May 21, 2020) – A woman was seriously injured in a traffic collision near Ojai on Wednesday night, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened at about 6:18 p.m. May 20, in the area of La Luna Avenue and El Roblar Drive in unincorporated Meiners Oaks.
34-year-old Nathan Whitteker was driving a car on the roadway when he ran a stop sign at the intersection and collided with a second vehicle.
Suspected DUI Driver Arrested after Crash that Injured Woman in Ojai
Officials from the Ventura County Fire Department who responded to the incident had to extricate a woman from her car.
The woman was transported to Ventura County Medical Center for treatment of major injuries.
Whitteker reportedly fled the scene but later returned on foot. He was arrested on suspicion of felony DUI and hit-and-run.
No additional information about the accident was provided.
The CHP is investigating the cause of the accident.
