Teenage Boy Killed in Orangevale Pedestrian Accident near Hazel and Oak Avenues

Orangevale, California (April 10, 2020) – A teenage boy was killed Friday morning in Orangevale after being struck by a vehicle while crossing a road, according to California Highway Patrol.
The accident happened in the area of Hazel and Oak avenues shortly after 6:00 a.m.
The CHP said the boy, who is believed to be between 13-15 years old, was struck by a vehicle while he was running across Hazel Avenue.
Medical personnel responded and pronounced the boy dead at the scene. His identity was withheld pending notification of next of kin.
The driver of the vehicle involved in the crash stayed at the scene and cooperated with the authorities.
Southbound Hazel Avenue was shut down following the accident.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
