Santa Rosa, CA: 2 Hospitalized after DUI Car Accident on Highway 101 near Todd Road
2 Injured in Santa Rosa Car Crash on Highway 101 near Todd Road, Anthony Lopez Arrested
Santa Rosa, California (April 8, 2020) – Two people were transported to the hospital after being involved in an alleged DUI traffic collision that happened in the area of Santa Rosa Monday night.
The crash was reported at about 10:50 p.m. April 6, on Highway 101, just north of Todd Road.
The accident happened when a silver BMW sedan driven by 23-year-old Anthony Garcia Lopez of Rohnert Park, southbound on the Highway, slammed into a center median for unknown reasons. A white Honda Civic then crashed into the BMW and hit Lopez, who had just got out of his car.
2 Hospitalized after Suspected DUI Crash in Santa Rosa
Lopez, who was driving under the influence, sustained major injuries in the crash. He was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
The Honda operator was also hospitalized at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.
Officials said Lopez will be taken to the Sonoma County Jail after being released from the hospital.
The accident remains under an active investigation.
