Kasey Espinoza ID’d as 15-Year-Old Girl Killed in San Jose Bike Crash at Bernal Road and Highway 101

San Jose, California (March 31, 2020) – The teen who died following a bicycle accident that occurred earlier this month in San Jose has been identified as Kasey Josephine Wafler Espinoza, 15, of San Jose, according to the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner-Coroner’s Office.
The crash took place at about 10:30 p.m. March 20, on Bernal Road and Highway 101.
According to San Jose police, Espinoza was riding a bicycle when she traveled across Bernal Road on a red light and collided with a 1999 Toyota 4Runner heading east.

Espinoza was transported to a hospital, where she was pronounced deceased at a later date.
Drugs were suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The incident is under investigation.
