2-Year-Old Killed, Cirilo Tellez Arrested after Fairfield Pedestrian Crash on W. Texas Street

Fairfield, California (February 24, 2020) – A man was arrested following a hit-and-run accident that left his 2-year-old nephew dead on Sunday afternoon in Fairfield, according to a police report.
The incident was reported just after 2 p.m. February 23, in the 1400 block of W. Texas Street.
Fairfield police said 32-year-old Cirilo Martinez Tellez of Fairlifed, was driving a vehicle that struck the young boy.
The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. The victim was not identified but police said he was Tellez’s nephew.

Tellez fled the scene after the crash. Police took custody of Tellez’s vehicle and he reportedly went back to the scene at about 6 p.m.
Alcohol was suspected to be a factor in the accident.
Police arrested Tellez and booked him into the Solano County Jail for vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
