1 Killed in Redding Car Crash on I-5 near Lake Boulevard
Redding, California (February 14, 2020) – One person was killed in a traffic collision that occurred in Redding early Friday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash, which happened at about 1 a.m., took place on I-5 north of Lake Boulevard.
According to the the CHP, a passenger car was involved in a crash with an SUV on southbound Interstate 5. The impact caused the SUV to overturn.

The driver of the SUV was pronounced deceased at the scene of the crash. His name was not immediately released.
The driver of the passenger car was transported to a hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
Southbound I-5 was temporarily closed as officials examined and cleared the scene.
The CHP is working to determine the cause of the crash.
