Woman Seriously Hurt in Scripps Ranch Crash on Pomerado Road

San Diego, California (January 27, 2020) – A woman sustained major injuries in a suspected DUI traffic collision that occurred in the Scripps Ranch neighborhood on Sunday morning, according to the San Diego Police Department.
The crash took place at around 10:12 a.m. January 26, in the 10600 block of Pomerado Road.
Police said a compact Smart car was traveling eastbound on Pomerado Road when it crossed the center divider and collided with an oncoming Land Rover.
The Land Rover then spun and swerved into the eastbound lanes, where it was broadsided by a Honda HRV.
Woman Seriously Injured in Scripps Ranch Crash
The driver of the Land Rover, a 68-year-old woman, was hospitalized with a fractured pelvis.
The 27-year-old woman driving the Honda along with her two juvenile passengers and the driver of the Smart car, were all treated for minor injuries.
Police arrested the driver of the Smart car, a 26-year-old man, on suspicion of DUI.
The San Diego Police Department is investigating the crash.
