Man Dies in Oceanside Pedestrian Crash on North Coast Highway

Oceanside, California (January 27, 2020) – A man was fatally hit by a suspected DUI driver early Sunday morning in Oceanside, according to the police.

The crash took place at around 1:10 a.m. January 26, on the North Coast Highway near Sportfisher Drive.

Police said a 22-year-old man was trying to cross the highway when he was hit by a northbound car.

The victim was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.

The driver of the car, identified as William Vaden, 31, was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI.

He was booked into the Vista Detention Facility on a $2,500 bail.
