Misti Vaughn Killed in Multi-Car Crash on 15 Freeway near Highway 78 in Escondido
Escondido, California (December 27, 2019) – 29-year-old Misti Dawn Vaughn has been identified as the Vista woman who was seriously injured in a traffic collision involving a big rig in Escondido on Monday morning.
According to a local news source, the accident happened at about 8 a.m. December 23, on Interstate 15 Freeway near Highway 78.
The California Highway Patrol said Vaughn was driving her Ford Ranger on the roadway when she lost control for unknown reasons and collided with a big brig before crashing into a Toyota 4Runner.
Vaughn was seriously injured and was taken to Palomar Medical Center in Escondido, where she died on Thursday night.
The 50-year-old Murrieta man who was driving the big rig and the 19-year-old Santee woman who was driving the Toyota were unhurt.
No other information was provided.
An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
