Tulare County, California (December 20, 2019) – One of the two correctional officers seriously hurt in a traffic crash in Tulare County on Tuesday has been identified as Samuel Oba
The two-vehicle accident happened along Highway 43 on Tuesday, December 17.
The two officers, including Oba, collided with a semi-truck on the highway for reasons still under an active investigation.
The initial report indicated that the two COs were returning to California State Prison Corcoran from an off-site assignment at a local hospital at the time of the accident.

Meanwhile, Oba and the other officer suffered serious injuries in the crash.
Officials did not disclose details regarding the semi-truck driver.
