San Diego, California (December 17, 2019) – A 47-year-old woman was hit and seriously injured by a vehicle at an intersection in North Park Monday afternoon, according to authorities.

The pedestrian accident occurred at about 2:50 p.m. Monday, December 16 at the intersection of North Park Way and 31st Street.

Authorities said the woman was attempting to cross the North Park street when she was hit by a 2014 Toyota Corolla that was making a left turn from westbound North Park Way onto 31st Street.

The woman was transported to a hospital for treatment of a skull fracture, facial injuries and a brain bleed that required surgery. Her name and current condition were not immediately available.

The male driver of the Corolla stopped at the scene and cooperated with authorities. Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the accident.

The accident remains under investigation.
