Woman Killed in Clovis Crash on Highway 168 near Academy Oaks Lane
50-Year-Old Clovis Woman Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on Tollhouse Road (Highway 168) near Academy Oaks Lane
Clovis, California (December 17, 2019) – A 50-year-old Clovis woman was killed Monday morning in a traffic accident involving two vehicles in Clovis, the California Highway Patrol reported.
The fatal crash took place at around 11:32 a.m. Monday, December 16 on Highway 168 near Academy Oaks Lane. Highway 168 is also known as Tollhouse Road.
According to the CHP, the Clovis woman was driving a 2015 Jeep Renegade on Academy Oaks Lane when she made a right turn into the eastbound lanes of Highway 168 and was hit by an oncoming 2000 Ford F-350 pickup truck.
As a result of the collision, both vehicles veered off the north shoulder of the highway.
The woman suffered major injuries and was airlifted to Community Regional Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries. Her name has not been disclosed pending notification of family.
The CHP said the two drivers were wearing their seat belts at the time of the accident.
Alcohol or drugs were not considered a factor in the crash. The accident remains under investigation by the CHP.
