Fabian Abarca ID’d as Bicyclist Killed in Van Nuys Crash at Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard
Van Nuys, California (December 11, 2019) – The bicyclist who was fatally hit by a vehicle on Saturday evening in Van Nuys has been identified as Fabian Abarca, 44, of North Hills, according to the coroner’s office.
The crash happened at around 6 p.m. December 7, at Kester Avenue and Victory Boulevard.
Authorities said Abarca was riding a bicycle eastbound when he tried to cross the intersection and was hit by a vehicle that was entering the intersection on a green light.
Fabian Abarca Killed in Van Nuys Bicycle Collision
Abarca was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced deceased.
The driver who hit Abarca stayed at the scene and called the authorities.
The incident remained under investigation.
