Victim Killed in San Luis Obispo DUI Head-On Accident on Highway 227 ID’d as Terry Tilton
San Luis Obispo, California (December 10, 2019) – 72-year-old Terry Tilton has been identified as the victim killed in an alleged DUI head-on collision that happened in the area of San Luis Obispo on Sunday evening, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The fatal collision happened at about 6:00 p.m. on December 1, along Highway 227 south of Patchett Road.
As per the CHP report, a 2005 GMC driven by 26-year-old Chelsea Stiles of Arroyo Grande northbound on the highway crossed into the southbound lane and collided head-on with a southbound 2013 Honda driven by Tilton.

Tilton was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Stiles suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment.
An 18-month-old girl riding in the GMC was also transported to Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries sustained in the wreck.
Officials said Stiles was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time of the wreck. She was arrested on suspicion of DUI and murder.
The investigation is underway.
