Man Killed, Woman Hospitalized after Escondido Car Crash at Del Dios Highway and Mount Israel Road

Escondido, California (November 29, 2019) – A man died, and a woman was hospitalized in a head-on crash that happened Thursday afternoon in Escondido, a local news source reported.
As per the article, the California Highway Patrol said the collision occurred at around 2 p.m. in the area of Del Dios Highway and Mount Israel Road.
A 47-year-old Escondido man was traveling at an unsafe speed in a 2006 Toyota Tundra when he entered a turn.
Authorities said wet road conditions may have caused the driver to cross into the opposing traffic where he crashed head-on into a 2013 Subaru Crosstek.
The Escondido man was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash and was pronounced dead later.
The driver of the Subaru, a 27-year-old Encinitas woman, was hospitalized at Palomar Medical Center with major but non-life-threatening injuries.
CHP is investigating the accident.
