Alex Tovar Injured in Merced Bicycle Accident at Paulson Road and Yosemite Avenue
Merced, California (November 18, 2019) – Alex Tovar has been identified as the eighth-grader who was struck and injured by a car as he rode a bicycle in Merced last month.
According to a local news source, the accident happened on Thursday, September 19, in the area of Paulson Road and Yosemite Avenue.
The California Highway Patrol said the Cruickshank Middle School student was riding a bicycle in a crosswalk when he was hit by a 2017 Toyota Tacoma.
Tovar sustained serious in injuries in the accident and was taken to Valley Children’s Hospital for treatment.
The student was expected to return to school today.
