Vallejo, California (November 13, 2019) – Carolyn-Divina Garcia, 24, of Vallejo, was injured in a fatal crash that occurred early Sunday morning in Vallejo, according to the authorities.

The wreck happened at about 12:08 a.m. November 9, on State Highway 37 at the Fairgrounds Drive off-ramp.

CHP said a man was driving a Nissan Altima sedan westbound on the highway when he crashed into the wall along the right side of the road. The Nissan came to rest partially in the fast lane of westbound SR 37.

Shortly after, a westbound Jeep Commander struck the Nissan driver as he was walking across the highway. A Honda Civic traveling westbound then swerved to avoid the Jeep but ended up crashing into the wall and striking the Jeep.

The Honda driver, identified as Garcia, was taken to Kaiser Permanente Vallejo Medical Heart with minor injuries.

The Nissan driver was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The driver of the Jeep was not injured.

All lanes of State Highway 37 were closed down as crews investigated the incident.

The CHP is investigating the crash.
