Man Killed in Morongo Valley Pedestrian Accident on Highway 62
Morongo Valley, California (November 11, 2019) – A man was fatally hit by a car Saturday evening in Morongo Valley, a local news source reported.
The accident took place at about 6:50 p.m. on Highway 62 at Lanning Lane.
As per the article, Morongo Valley Fire Chief Jim Brakebill said a 63-year-old female driver of a 2001 gray Toyota Avalon XL was traveling eastbound on the highway when she struck a man who was crossing the highway.
The man, in his 60s, had been at the Country Market and was returning home, according to Brakebill.
The victim was in the eastbound slow lane when he was hit by the car.
He died at the crash scene.
The driver was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center by Morongo Basin Ambulance. She sustained injuries to her face, shoulders, and chest.
The accident is under an active investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
