Woodland, CA: Head-On Crash on Interstate 5
Minor Injuries Reported in Woodland Car Accident on Interstate 5 near County Road 22 Off-Ramp
Woodland, California (October 27, 2019) – Minor injuries were reported Saturday afternoon following a traffic accident in Woodland, the California Highway Patrol said.
According to the CHP traffic incident log, the crash happened shortly after 1:00 p.m. Saturday, October 26 on southbound Interstate 5 near the County Road 22 exit.
The CHP said one vehicle traveled the wrong way up a freeway off-ramp and collided head-on with another vehicle on southbound Interstate 5.
Witnesses told the authorities that a Mercedes sedan entered the freeway from the wrong direction and traveled northbound in the center divider before colliding head-on with a truck.
The CHP said the crash resulted in minor injuries.
As of 3:30 p.m., the roadway was cleared. It was not immediately clear why the driver of the sedan entered the freeway from the wrong direction.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
