Raymundo Jaime Identified as Bicyclist Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on South Palm Canyon Drive

Palm Springs, California (October 23, 2019) – 30-year-old Raymundo Jaime of Desert Hot Springs has been identified as the bicyclist killed after a suspected hit-and-run collision on Monday night in the area of Palm Springs, according to authorities.
The accident happened at around 9:20 p.m. Monday, October 21, on South Palm Canyon Drive near Mesquite Avenue and Morongo Road.
As per the CHP officials, Jaime was riding his bicycle on Palm Canyon Drive when for reasons still under investigation, he was struck by a vehicle.

Responding paramedics declared Jaime dead at the crash site.
Officials confirmed that the involved driver did not stop to render aid and fled the scene after the accident. The suspect vehicle was described as a dark-colored compact sedan with possible front-end damage.
No other information regarding this incident was provided.
An investigation is underway.
