Hemet, California (October 24, 2019) – Police are conducting an incident where a hit-and-run driver left a woman seriously injured earlier this month in Hemet.

The crash occurred the morning of October 8, on Florida Avenue near Yale Street.

According to Hemet police, a woman was running across Florida Avenue when a four-door sedan struck her and fled the scene.

Woman Seriously Hurt in Hemet Pedestrian Crash

The victim was transported to a trauma center with serious injuries. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.

Police said the vehicle involved in the incident was likely a 2004-2007 Chevrolet Malibu.

The investigation is ongoing.

Many pedestrians are hurt and several others killed in accidents in California every year. The causes of many of these pedestrian accidents include distracted driving, speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving, bad weather, wrong-way driving and failure to observe traffic laws.
