Ramon Gutierrez Killed in Pico Rivera Pedestrian Accident at Rex Road and Paramount Boulevard
Ramon Gutierrez ID’d as Pedestrian Hit and Killed by Train at Rex Road and Paramount Boulevard in Pico Rivera
Pico Rivera, California (October 21, 2019) – Ramon Alberto Gutierrez, 41, of Pico Rivera, has been identified as the pedestrian who was struck and killed by an Amtrak train Friday morning in Pico Rivera.
The fatal pedestrian accident happened at around 8:55 a.m. Friday, October 18 at the intersection of Rex Road and Paramount Boulevard.
Authorities said Gutierrez was walking along the tracks when he was hit by an Amtrak Pacific Surfliner train 763 that was traveling from San Diego to San Luis Obispo.
Gutierrez was pronounced dead at the scene.
The train passengers and employees were not injured.
It was not known where Gutierrez was heading or why he was walking along the tracks.
The accident remains under investigation by authorities.
