Ceres, California (October 18, 2019) – A child was hospitalized after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Thursday afternoon in Ceres, according to Ceres police.

The incident happened on Evans Road near Caswell Elementary School at around 2:45 p.m. October 17.

Police said a 7-year-old boy was walking in the area when a white sedan or SUV struck him. The driver fled the scene after the crash.

Child Hospitalized after Ceres Pedestrian Crash

The boy was airlifted to UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Ceres Police Department is investigating the crash.
