Turlock, California (October 16, 2019) – The teen who was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Saturday evening in Turlock has been identified as Thaily Gutierrez, 17, according to a local news source.

The crash happened at about 5 p.m. October 12, on Angelus Street near West Avenue South.

Authorities said a 17-year-old was driving a sedan westbound on Angelus Street when she crashed into the side of an SUV traveling down West Avenue South.

The teenage driver of the sedan was pulled out of the wreckage by bystanders while her passenger, later identified as Gutierrez, had to be extricated by firefighters.

Thaily Gutierrez Killed in Turlock Traffic Crash

The two were airlifted to a local, where Gutierrez succumbed to her injuries. The driver was in serious condition.

The 18-year-old man driving the SUV stayed at the scene.

Police said alcohol and drugs do not appear to be factors in the crash.

The investigation is ongoing.
