Deadly Head-on Crash on Highway 216 and Avenue 320 in Visalia
Woman Killed, 5 People Injured in Deadly Head-on Crash in Rural Tulare County
Visalia, California (October 15, 2018) – A woman was killed and five other people were injured Tuesday evening following a head-on crash involving two vehicles on Highway 216 in Visalia, according to a California Highway Patrol report.
The deadly accident took place at about 6:02 p.m. today on CA-216, just south of Avenue 320 near Ivanhoe.
An 18-year-old man was driving northbound on Highway 216 near Ivanhoe when he tried to pass another vehicle and ended up colliding head-on with a car driven by a 24-year-old woman. One of the women, who was a passenger, died at the scene. The 24-year-old woman sustained major injuries and was transported to the hospital.
The 18-year-old man was also rushed to the hospital with major injuries. Three other people who were with him in the car sustained minor injuries and were taken to the hospital.
The crash is under investigation.
