Bicyclist Gravely Injured in Santa Ana Crash on Main Street and Warner Avenue
Santa Ana, California (October 14, 2019) – A bicycle rider was hospitalized with major injuries after being struck by a hit-and-run driver on Sunday morning in Santa Ana, according to the Santa Ana Police Department.
The crash happened at about 5:20 a.m. October 13, at Main Street and Warner Avenue.
Police said a man was riding a bicycle northbound on Main Street across the intersection when a vehicle traveling west on Warner Avenue struck him.
The driver involved in the crash fled the scene after the incident.
Rider Critical after Santa Ana Bicycle Crash
The victim was rushed to a hospital in critical condition. The victim’s identity was not immediately released.
There was no description of the vehicle involved.
Police said alcohol is suspected to be a factor in the crash.
The Santa Ana Police Department is investigating the crash.
