Marcelino Cabrera Killed in Hesperia Car Accident at Mariposa Road and Main Street

Hesperia, California (October 13, 2019) – Authorities have identified the person who died in an alleged DUI crash that happened Saturday night in Hesperia as Marcelino Cabrera III, 46.

The deadly crash happened just after 8:00 p.m. October 12 in the area of Mariposa Road and Main Street.

Authorities said  Ramses Gonzales of Rialto, was driving a 2002 BMW 3 series westbound on Main Street approaching the intersection when he ran a red light and T-boned a 1994 Honda Accord driven by Cabrera, who was heading northbound on Mariposa Road and through the intersection with Main Street.

The impact pushed the BMW into a large palm tree at a business parking lot.

Cabrera was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Gonzales was airlifted to Loma Linda University Medical Center in critical condition.

Investigators said Gonzales was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs at the time of the accident.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
